Aside from professional training as teachers, school administrator (John) and university instructor (Nathalie), we have been home owners for 45 years, 35 of them in rural areas.  Home ownership has probably been the most comprehensive and useful education of all for us, and our skills and experiences have enabled us to be self-reliant, taking care of all or most house and animal-related concerns.  We are familiar and often experts in the following areas:
